Daniel Scott Langford is a seasoned FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and aviation professional based in his hometown of Lewistown, Montana. Born into an aviation family, Langford served in the Navy before embarking on a professional flight career that has surpassed 15,000 flight hours. His early experience included eight years in aircraft maintenance where he earned his A&P IA and ATP certifications. He later served as a Chief Pilot and Check Airman in South Dakota before returning to Montana to oversee helicopter charter and fire suppression operations as a Director of Operations.
Currently, Langford operates Langford Aviation LLC and is a co-owner of Central Air Service at the Lewistown Municipal Airport. His diverse expertise covers a wide spectrum, including mountain flying, power line patrol, and tailwheel instruction. As a DPE and a dually rated pilot in both airplanes and helicopters, he is authorized to conduct checkrides for Private through CFI levels. Known for a proficiency-based evaluation style, Langford emphasizes a rigorous safety mindset rooted in his extensive background in maintenance and specialized mission flying across the challenging terrain of the Big Sky state.
