Damian Nikell Johnson is a distinguished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and seasoned aviator based in Zachary, Louisiana. His passion for aviation ignited at the age of twelve, eventually leading him to graduate from Northwestern State University’s prestigious flight training program. Today, he serves as the Flight Fleet Command Pilot for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry and is the proprietor and Chief Flight Instructor of the Johnson Training Institute, where he focuses on mentoring the next generation of aspiring aviators.
Johnson holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a Gold Seal Certified Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI). Throughout his extensive career, he has accumulated thousands of flight hours across public service, corporate operations, and private instruction, maintaining a pristine safety record that informs his meticulous evaluation style. As a DPE for the Baton Rouge Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), he is highly regarded for his unwavering commitment to the Airman Certification Standards (ACS) and his advocacy for STEM education.
