Clark Frederick Miller

Clark Frederick Miller is a distinguished FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and the Director of Operations for Taquan Air, based in Ketchikan, Alaska. With an expansive career spanning over two decades in the "Last Frontier," Miller is an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with more than 11,000 flight hours. He possesses the authority to examine and issue airman certificates up to the ATP level, making him a critical figure in the certification of commercial and professional pilots within the Alaska Region.

Miller’s professional background is defined by a deep commitment to aviation safety and regulatory oversight. Before his current leadership role, he served for over seven years as a Principal Operations Inspector (POI) for the FAA, overseeing Part 135 operators across Alaska. His private sector experience is equally extensive, having served as Chief Pilot and Check Airman for five different air taxi operators. Since moving from Idaho to Alaska in 2001, Miller has specialized in the unique challenges of Southeast Alaska aviation, including floatplane operations and mountain flying.
