Brian Ross Walker is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) and helicopter flight instructor based at the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport (KGKT) in Sevierville, Tennessee. Operating under the Nashville Flight Standards District Office (FSDO), Walker conducts practical tests for Private, Commercial, Instrument, CFI, and CFII helicopter ratings. Because his pilot certifications and examiner designations are limited strictly to the rotorcraft category, he does not conduct airplane checkrides.
In addition to his role as an examiner, Walker serves as the General Manager, Accountable Manager, and Liaison for Sevier County Choppers, Inc. (which also operates as Sevier County Aviation, Inc.). This facility provides Part 61 and Part 141 helicopter flight training, Robinson helicopter maintenance, and scenic tours. Walker holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) in Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Instrument Helicopter. In December 2021, he also acted as the spokesperson for Sevier County Choppers during regional news coverage of an aviation incident involving an outside aircraft.
